Meet Our Owner
Frederick Thompson Jr (Coach Rick) -
Owner/Program Director
Rick has been part of performing arts his entire life. Being gifted with the talent of percussion, he was a drummer and also participated in both concert band and marching band. As a talented musician, Rick has experienced the wonders of boundless self expression and creativity.As a graduate of The University of Alabama at Birmingham, Rick brings in-depth education, integrity, and upstanding professionalism to the gymnastics arena.
This appreciation for the arts has led to over 8 years as a gymnastics coach. Rick has went to on to be certified as a USAG Women's Competitive Coach & Judge, and Club Owner.
In summer of 2024, Rick founded Suavey Sports Gymnastics program. The program offers USAG competitive gymnastics, recreational gymnastics, private lessons, open gym, and more.
In his free time, Coach Rick enjoys time with his parents, touring museums and galleries in Washington, D.C, and producing music.

Suavey Sports is introducing a modular, customizable gymnastics curriculum that uniquely integrates gymnastics, dance, cheerleading, and overall health and fitness. Grounded in safety and tailored for varying skill levels, our acrobatics curriculum bridges the gap in the sport of gymnastics.
